“When we go small, we take more of a detailed responsibility for what we’re doing. For example, small roasters like Valhalla Coffee Company roast approximately 100 pounds an hour, and Bluebeard only 60 pounds an hour, 15 pounds at a time. This contrasts with some of our regional roasters who produce more than 8,000 pounds of coffee per hour on just one machine. We crave this small-batch approach wherever we can find it, from fine art prints to small-batch bourbon, each individual product with its own story. We value it enough that large-scale companies try to reproduce that earned intimacy with marketing.”

Good news for coffee drinkers — especially the men.
According to a major study out of the Harvard School of Public Health, the more coffee men drink, the lower their chance of developing prostate cancer.
Researchers found that men who drank six cups of coffee per day had a 60 percent lower risk of developing the most lethal form of prostate cancer — and a 20 percent lower risk of developing any form of the disease.
